Here it is! The World Maker DnD Room Controller sets the atmosphere for DnD gameplay.
This is an icosahedron with an Argon microcontroller connected to an MPU 6050 Accelerometer and Gyroscope! (There's also a thermal sensor on this baby!) The MPU 6050 is AWESOME!!! I LOVE IT. Ahem, it's also my first real project. So I may be overly excited. There's also a little Neopixel on here, to let the players know when it's time to roll again and to accentuate the sense of doom or glory based on what gets rolled.
I have A LOT of work left to do on the program. But you can use it to turn on smart lights and smart outlets. This means it can be set to make a fog machine go off and I couldn't resist doing that! Check out the ...rushed... handiwork for the midterm project in Brian Rashap's course in the Fuse Makerspace 'The Internet of Things'.
They don't call it a boot camp for no reason! I am loving it!
This is a diagram showing some of the dimensions for the 20-sided die body I created to hold the Argon Microcontroller and components inside.
Assembly for D20 Body and Lid
It needs work. As it stands it will require some minor edits done with a Dremel after it prints to make the lid fit. Sorry about that, I'll fix it as soon as I can.
This is the lid, there is an edge that juts out of the bottom, please ignore it. The top hole above the OLED inlay is meant to be a charging port if you can rig it on the inside to fit that way when you build the components.
This is the fritzing diagram showing how all the parts go together to make it happen.
World Maker DnD 20 Room Controller
This is a work in progress, I'm building a Room Controller for DnD play
