This project is designed to alert you whenever your workspace environment is not within adequate limits. We decided to make this project since we're college students always on a computer doing homework or studying. Working under the right conditions will allow us to work comfortably and efficiently. The sensors used in this project were a temperature/ humidity sensor and a big sound sensor.Temperature/ Humidity Sensor:
The purpose of the temperature/ humidity sensor is to read the temperature of your workspace. If the temperature is too high or too low, the IFTTT app will send an email alerting you that the workspace temperature you're working in is not within adequate limits.
Above is an image of my email receiving notifications from IFTTT that I am not working within my adequate temperature limits. If the temperature of my workspace is less than 68 and greater than 78, I will receive an alert.
Noise becomes a great burden to have in a workspace environment. It would be great to know what days of the week or what hours of the day are most noisy for a particular location. The big sound sensor absorbs ambient sound and outputs analog values as an indication of the magnitude of the noise experienced. The sound sensor utilizes a particle webhook to distribute the collected data to Thingspeak.com. This allows for live graphing to take place.
