My project is a smart IoT device that integrates as a GPS, a sonar as well as a darkness sensor and alarm that has a button attatched. During week 2 of the Stemcore/Summerbridge program we learned some basics of coding with C/C++. I came into this week not knowing anything about programming or coding. All of this came new to me, we learned how to code neopixel, accelerometer, temperature/humidity and LED.
I thought it was intreiging that we were able to turn on lights and change the patterns of how they lit up with a few codes through a computer. It is so interesting that you can change the brightness of the light as well without even touching it.
The most interesting project to me was learning how to code for a accelerometer and get the measurements of how an actual airplane would work. Once the code was in the computer, you could take the airplane and move it to any degree and all of the data would instantly be reported to the computer.
Going through this week and gaining this knowledge was very helpful. This program shows me how powerful electronics really can be and you don't even have to get dirty to use them. I plan to take more programming classes throughout college so I can get as much coding knowledge as possible. It seems that knowing how to use these skills can take you a long way in life.
