On average an Australian works for about 7-8 hours everyday which can be quite hectic sometimes. Which means looking after your pet on top of work, personal errands and family is quite difficult. As most of my friends are dog owner, so they all have a common problem of not being able to feed their pets on time due to their busy schedule. According to me all the pet owner will be happy if they can give food to their pets using basic devices like mobiles and laptops. This can be a game changer. There are some automatic food dispenser in the market but many of them cannot be controlled over internet using devices like mobile phones and laptops and if they do then it will be very costly.
This design has some design fundamentals:
Design for Security:
This system has camera which live stream 24*7 and can only be accessed by the owner and also all the data from this system is stored privately which can only be used by the user.
Design for Serviceability:
This system is designed to provide service to pets as well as their owners. The prototype is easily repairable as most of the parts are cheap and it can be directly changed without any complication.
Design for Flexibility:
Certain features of this system can be altered according to the users demand like the distance of the ultrasonic sensor with the pet’s bowl can be easily changed.
OVERVIEW:•To create a system that detects the motion of the dog when near its bowl.
•Check whether the bowl is empty or not.
•Send data and notification wirelessly to devices like laptops and mobile phones.
•Operate food dispenser using mobile phone/laptop.
Functional Requirements:•Must be able to detect motion of the pet.
•Must be able to check whether the bowl is empty or not.
•Have the ability to live stream video of the bowl and the dog.
•Receive notification when dog is detected and the bowl is empty.
•Control food dispenser over the internet.
Nonfunctional Requirements:•The notification should be instant, within seconds.
•The footage must be remotely accessible.
•The system must be able to work even when the distance between the ultrasonic senor and bowl is changed.
